“Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Company) label La Reliure du Limousin Awarded again!

Since 2010, La Reliure du Limousin has been recognized by the French government for its excellence in bookbinding and restoration of written heritage. With over 70 years of experience, the artisanal expertise of the company has once again been recognized with the award of the Living Heritage Company (EPV) label for the third consecutive time. This prestigious recognition, bestowed by the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance for five years, attests to our proficiency in traditional techniques and our rich heritage.

This distinction is the result of our rigorous approach to practicing our art as well as our respect for the techniques and materials used. Throughout our history, our priority has always been to pass on the unique skills developed within the company. Around fifteen of our craftspersons have more than 30 years of experience, while half have more than 20 years of experience in the restoration of written heritage and the art of bookbinding. Each of them has unique expertise and experience in a specific aspect of written heritage conservation (restoration of figurative documents, creation of conservation bindings, restoration of parchments and seals, preparation of registers for digitization, production of customized packaging, etc.).

We are committed to passing on the knowledge we have acquired through our experience via our training center, which was created in 2022 and prepares 10 young people each year for the diploma “CAP” (“Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle”, professional qualification) in bookbinding.
