Our goal is not only to enable you to progress as far as possible in your academic training but also to ensure you a lasting professional integration into our trade.

Continue your training

You can continue your training with the Brevet des Métiers d’Art: Arts graphiques Option Reliure. (Diploma of Graphic Arts, Bookbinding option) This diploma enables you to develop the bookbinding and gold tooling techniques covered in the CAP.

If you want to further your training, you can also apply for the Institut National du Patrimoine’s competitive examination for restorers.

Admitted through a competitive exam, student restorers follow a 5-year program at the INP to acquire the theoretical, scientific, and practical foundations necessary for the restoration of heritage works and objects. The course leads to a Master’s degree in heritage restoration.

Professional integration

The CAP Arts de la Reliure (“Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle”, professional qualification in bookbinding) will open the door to French bookbinding workshops, including La Reliure du Limousin and L’Atelier Benoist.

Upon completing your training, you will have the opportunity to join one of our workshops through a position as an craftsperson that will be offered to you

The skills you will have acquired will also enable you to consider starting an independent business more easily.

Your training at La Reliure du Limousin will bring you into close contact with departmental and municipal archive services and will also enable you to consider a career in this field.

Finally, the meticulousness and care that you will have developed in order to obtain your CAP will also be recognised by all the craft and art professions.
